Haiti has the highest cervical cancer rate in the world at 94 cases per 100,000 with an estimated 1,500 deaths a year. Pap smear screening, which has dramatically reduced death from cervical cancer in many countries is generally not available in Haiti which has only four pathologists for a country of 10 million people. Through a collaboration of government, clinics and NGOs a national campaign to prevent cervical cancer has started and the Rasin Foundation is proud to be a part of this effort.  In collaboration with Family Health Ministries we are screening women using state of art HPV testing followed by colposcopy and cryotherapy. At group education and screening events we have been able to screen 50 women in a session. Our clinic nurse, Miglese Bourdeau attended the second annual 2018 Haiti Without Cervical Cancer conference. Your help will allow us to continue this campaign and screen even more women in our community.  To sign on as a sponsor for this project, please email jon@rasinfoundation.org.
